I really just don’t know how another month is gone?! 2017 is absolutely flying by and that’s so weird to me.
How was April for you? Was it challenging? Joyful? I’m going to be honest, my spirit flatlined a little bit. I felt a tiny bit of me lose my spark – about writing, work, and relationships. I have a bad tendency of shutting myself away from really good things without knowing it, all the while pursuing my busy schedule. I can become a slave to it. This leads me to become indifferent about the important things. I really can’t stand indifference, too!
But over the past few days I’ve been really uplifted and encouraged by people around me (you know who you are!) – further proving how important it is to have a solid community around you. More on that here.
Does anyone else experience a phase of annoyance after you’ve finally decided to bring yourself up again after not being 100%? I can only sum it up as a giant eye roll. Like, “How can I honestly be here again?” Not that I’ve been “going through” anything – I’ve had a great month! I just know I haven’t been operating at right level – at work, with Ryan, with She’s Taylored, and with God.
Healthy perspective on yourself is good, right? April had some super fun moments that I can’t help but share with you!
Baby Shower for Baby Ignont
Okay I don’t have photos because we were having too much fun, but this shower was one of the best ever! This baby is surrounded by so many people that love him and I’m so honored to be one of them. It was just a blast. This little baby is actually our godson – something that Ryan and I cherish. We can’t wait to love on this little boy. Less than one month away until he arrives!
Austin Trip with Ryan’s Parents
Austin is by far our favorite place in Texas. Ryan loves it. He loves UT. It’s their family’s thing and it’s great. We had SUCH a great time eating all of the yummy food and just hanging out and laughing together. ryan also isn’t big on birthdays so it was super fun celebrating him and spoiling him a bit. I wrote a post all about him here! This weekend was so needed and I’m still sad it’s over. Until next time, Austin!
Wifey Slumber Party
The weekend that Ryan and his boys went back to Austin for his birthday turned into a mega girls weekend for me. I spent the first night with two other wives from Ryan’s friend group and it was nothing but affirming, hilarious, and perfect. LOVED IT. I spent the next time at my parents house and my aunt and cousin came over. Cue more talking and laughing and perfection. Yes, when Ryan isn’t here I immediately want to hang with my parents.
I hope if your April was less than you wanted it to be, that you’re walking into May with hope and confidence in something more. On Monday we’re welcoming May with a new theme and a new focus. I can’t wait for everything coming up!
I’ll see you Monday! As always, thank you for reading!
