Happy Monday, friends! It sort of blows my mind that March is about to be over. 2017 is flying by!
Since it’s now officially spring, Dallas is in that weird phase where it’s sort of chilly/warm/hot all in one day. Classic “Spring” in Texas making it real hard to know how to dress. As someone who’s lived in Texas most of her life, I’ve found that the only literal solution to this is wearing layers.
This denim jacket from H&M is the MVP of layers in my wardrobe. My husband will attest that I wear some version of this outfit allllllll the time. Also, fashion posts are admittedly harder for me since the majority of my closet is thrifted, from high school, or a college roommate’s (thanks, girls!)
My friend, Megan, takes the majority of my photos (she’s my #dreamdefender), and she was such a champ for these. It was the WINDIEST day ever + we had her fluff, Winnie, with us and she still managed to take normal photos of me eating my hair while entertaining a very bored border collie. Lolz.
Anyway, I wanted to check in and see how everyone was doing. At church this week our pastor asked us, “What are you absorbed with?” and it’s really stuck with me. Honestly, I wasn’t absorbed with the right things this week and I allowed my schedule, priorities, and distractions strip me of joy. I typically go a million miles an hour and I’ve learned how to be productive in a healthy way, but this week I definitely wasn’t. So I’ll ask you:
What are you absorbed with?
Are you absorbed with things that will be fruitful? Are you absorbed with things that are eternal?
I wasn’t this week. So will you challenge yourself with me this week to be better than last week?
Let’s be absorbed by things that produce: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. (Gal. 5:22-23)
A great way to start this is by talking to God. Check in with Him and ask Him to help you.
I hope you’re encouraged and ready to take on the week! I pray for everyone who reads this and am truly beyond thankful that anyone would give time to this.
Have a great day!
