I can’t believe I’m even writing this post since that means our trip is over. We booked our cruise tickets in March so we had half a year of anticipation for this trip. If you don’t know, Ryan and I went on a cruise with 4 of our best friends. It was such an incredible trip, not only because of the people but because all of us seemed to really need a break. Sometimes I’m afraid of over-hyping a trip and making it really easy to get let down but this trip was better than I thought it would be and my hopes were as high as they could get.
The people were perfect – love y’all ugh, the length of the cruise was perfect, and Cozumel was perfect. We got to spend an entire day playing in the water, snorkeling, and tbh I think we escaped a real life shark while paddleboarding. The endless amount of girl talk and laughter was so stinkin good for my soul. I found myself continually thanking God for the sunsets over the water, the people He’s put in our lives, and the break from service and wifi. It was an actual break from reality with some of our favorite humans and I’m still processing how thankful I am for this trip.
As far as the actual cruise, Ryan and I ended up being more anxious on the water then we thought we’d be – was anyone else like that on a cruise? It was really only when we were sleeping and when we thought too hard about what would happen if there was an emergency.
But besides that, I’d 100% recommend a cheap, short cruise like we did with some friends. It’s the easiest and most relaxed way to travel if you really just want a break with your people. The food is pretty decent (minus the food poisoning that one of us got – poor Sam) and the buffets are actually awesome. We were all pleasantly surprised and ate there A LOT. One of THE BEST parts of the cruise was the people-watching. Watching people sing karaoke is truly amazing and terrible to witness. The shows were less cheesy than we had imagined and were actually a ton of fun.
10/10 would recommend. 10/10 sad that it’s already over but I’m lowkey already planning our next friend vacation for next year! Here are some fun photos that us girls snapped!
Oh P.S. – tomorrow I’m posting a vlog of the trip on my YouTube channel!
