Hi my name is Caitlin Taylor and welcome to She’s Taylored!
She’s Taylored is my new blog and something I’ve been dreaming about for a long time. Maybe you rolled your eyes at the thought of another blog (for which I don’t blame you at all!) or maybe you’re not really into keeping up with blogs – either way, I’m so glad you’re here.
She’s Taylored was inspired by my passion for writing and my desire to bring a little bit more Jesus to the internet. I actually bought the domain over 2 years ago, without any kind of plan for it – I just knew it was something I’d love to do. I even asked for a nice Canon for Christmas that same year and am just now learning to use it. (TBH I have no clue how to use it yet, but I’m learning!).
It was sort of a big joke that I even thought I could start a blog during that time because between purchasing the domain and now I finished school at Texas A&M, got engaged, graduated, planned a wedding, started my first real “corporate” job, got married to my hot husband, moved to a new city, started a ministry with some of our closest friends, and then started an entirely new job. I decided to do every part of my real adult life at once. LOLZ CAIT. Really though, it was easily the most challenging and incredible year and a half and I’m beyond grateful for it – especially doing it all with my main boo, Ryan.
For the time being, my life is pretty steady and finally allows for this – thanks, Jesus! *fist bump*
Mainly, I believe now more than ever that the internet and social media is saturated with so many platforms that can influence women in negative ways – confusing us on who we should be, how we should look, and how we should live. It’s a slow, dangerous process, too. All it takes is creeping on an Instagram model for too long and believing you’re supposed to look like that too, or seeing another friend get engaged and wondering why you haven’t experienced that yet, or seeing a mom who has 3 kids, always looks puts together, and seems to have it all and you’re asking yourself why you can’t manage to get yourself to your 9:35 am psych class on time.
Don’t we all do this, ladies?!
My hope is that She’s Taylored will be a place where girls can come and see some honesty, transparency, and be constantly reminded of exactly who God says they are – someone who was taylor-made with intentionality and a big purpose by a Creator who knows each part of you and calls it perfect.
So if you find yourself looking for something honest and real, no filter or clever caption added, or are simply looking for some community then you’re in the right place and are so welcome here. Let’s do this together.
Thanks for giving a chance on another blog and I hope to see you next time!
